How much do lessons cost?

Do you offer both virtual and in-person lessons?
Yes! We offer both in-person instruction at Melodious Music Studios in Fredericksburg, Virginia, as well as virtual/online lessons. For online lessons, a student requires the use of a tablet, smart phone, laptop, or desktop computer that has a good camera for video calls, and decent audio quality so we can better assist you with your musical progress. A good internet connection is required as well for the student's best virtual lesson experience.

Can you prepare me/my child for all-county, all-state, and music program university auditions?
Yes, absolutely. We have assisted and prepared many students for getting placed into all-county, all-state, and into college music programs. Recently one of our viola students was accepted into James Madison University's music program!
What ages do you teach?
What if I/my child would like to learn music just for fun, and not as a career?
How do I register for lessons?
The first step is to contact us either via the contact form below, or by email. In your inquiry, let us know what instrument/s you are interested in learning, what level the student is currently at (beginner, intermediate, etc.), if you have an instructor you would like to specifically take lessons from, and your ideal lesson days and times. Once we receive this info, we can check with our instructors' schedules to see what times they have available for you. Once an instructor and lesson day and time has been selected, the instructor will send you a registration form, info about the lessons, and let you know of any supplies or books you might need.
Do you stop for the summer, or are you open year-round?
We do not pause lessons for the summer; we provide musical instruction year round.
Do you provide lessons/classes for more than one person?
We currently only provide one-on-one private music instruction to ensure the student's greatest enjoyment of the lesson and to best facilitate their progress and improvement.
Will the instructor send me a list of items I will need for lessons?
Once the student is registered with one of our music teachers, the teacher will inform the student what books, supplies, and items the student will require for their lessons.
Where can I rent a violin, viola, or cello?
We highly recommend renting a violin, viola, or cello from William Mason Violins in downtown Fredericksburg. You can also rent from Bang! Music in Stafford, Virginia, Music & Arts in Woodbridge, Virginia, or through an online rental program called Sharway from Shar Music.
